What are the requirements for admission into Canadian universities?
Each university in Canada has its own policy regarding admission requirements. Contact each university directly for the admission requirements of the program you’re interested in. But generally you MAY be requested to pay an application fee of $100 CND, and scanned copy of your International passport. And bank statement that demonstrates an ability to pay a year’s worth of funds for Academic and personal expenses. You need also:
- A completed application form;
- An official high school transcript (or attested copy) (if applicable);
- Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended (if any);
- A detailed chronological résumé to demonstrate educational achievements, work experience, progression,
- community involvement, volunteer experience, and other related experience; and
- A Letter of Intent (LOI) that clearly explains why the applicant is applying and outlines the student’s
academic intentions.
Study Permit in Canada
In Canada, the government requires that students studying longer than 6 months have a study permit. The permit is issued once a student has acceptance to the school. In order to apply for an initial permit, the following documents are required:
- Letter of acceptance from the University
- A passport that is valid for at least 1 year and 2 passport sized photos
- Proof of financial support. Here is a list of accepted SPONSOR documents
- Proof of Canadian bank account in your name if the money has been transferred to Canada
- Proof of student/education loan from a financial institution
- Your bank statements for the past 4 months
- A bank draft in convertible currency
- Proof of payment of tuition and accommodation fees
- Proof of funding paid from within Canada if you have a scholarship or are in a Canadian-funded educational
program.
